Vacation Homes

We all know there are a lot of folks in the midwest that have long known about Northern Michigan, from the best boating, skiing, golfing, night life, festivals, kayaking, family activities, and just the natural beauty of the area, to the historical aspects it has to offer. Think Mackinaw Island and Fort Michilimackinac, both just named in the top 5 destinations in America. The Island coming in at #1. That shows it’s not just midwestern people that know this, but all of the USA. Throw in the accolades Good Morning America gave Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore last year as One of the most beautiful places in America, and Traverse City was named as one of the best towns to live in, as well as one of the best areas to retire to.

If there is any one place to really enjoy all of this splendor that is Northern Michigan, It would have to be Antrim County, in NW Michigan. Centrally located in the middle of all these places mentioned above. Kind of like the Heart of it all. An easy 90 minute drive to Mackinaw, 60 minutes to Sleeping Bear. Traverse City? 30 minutes, Gaylord, 30 minutes.

The county seat is Bellaire, home to one of the premier golf/ski resorts in the midwest, Shanty Creek/Schuss Mtn, which along with Cedar River, gives you 4 of the top courses in Michigan, all within a golfcart ride away. Of course just a short ride away is many other fine courses. Maybe not everyone in the family has the same love of golf, there is plenty of other activities close by. Want water? We’re talking Lake Michigan, Torch Lake, The Chain-O-Lakes, Jordan River, Lake Bellaire, Grass River, Yeah, we got water. Pretty much anything you’re looking for can be found here.
